Sometimes little things can make a big difference. A long-time client of mine owns this circa 1830s home in Gladwyne, and she strives to maintain the character of the home. The original windows had been replaced by a previous owner with casement windows, which just didn’t look right. In lieu of replacing the windows again, she asked me to make grilles to give the appearance of traditional divided-lite, double-hung windows.

 Although it was a challenging project that involved overlapping multiple thin layers of wood that are prone to breaking during the fabrication process, the finished product really makes an incredible difference in the home’s facade. .
