On this project the client wanted to create a breakfast nook with built-in bench seating. We discussed a few different options and ultimately chose an open-bottom, flat-panel banquette design.

Here the lower section is installed. Arched struts as well as steel reinforcement under the bench allow for the completely open base with no visible support

The upper section of the bench is angled back slightly for comfort.

The finished product, trimmed out to create the flat-panel design. Custom-made cushions will complete this new seating area.
